How to Analyze Your SEO Competitors (Part-2)

In my last post I've discussed on "How to Analyze Your SEO Competitors" and I also given some points. but today I am going to describe them all.


1. Find Your Competitors First



First of all you have to find out, who are your tough competitors. Find them and analyze them properly. because if you are not in Google top 10 & your competitors are present in top, then take help from their strategy. Check all top ten competitor's website & find what they are doing, like: meta tags, content, keywords, landing pages, submissions (where they are submitting details), backlinks, social networking profiles & work, PPC Ads etc.




2. Check Competitor's Website Manually


The next step is to check their sites and analyze them manually. You should check website design, theme, concept, flash, header & footer structure, landing pages, content quality & more. It will help you to create more useful & user friendly website.

3. Analyze Keywords your Competitors Using


Keywords are always the most important factor in web promotion. because customers are connect you with "keywords" but it depends how much your keyword is powerful. Because if you are using long tail keywords with less monthly searches, will not generate single traffic on your website. On the other hand if you are using keywords with 2 or 3 words combination and with good monthly searches, you'll definitely get more quality traffic. You can check all competitor's keywords in "Google Keywords Suggestion Tool" & get idea how many keywords are good for your website. You should also check the keyword density of competitors. Also, don't forget to check keywords location like: metatags, content, headings, image tags, etc.

4. Check the Backlinks of Your Competitor's website


Backlinks are the main source to get good rankings. There are many tools to check all backlinks of websites. check your competitor's backlinks quality, anchor text & page rank etc.
By this you'll have some ideas to do linking. For example: if you have all the quality links where your competitors already added their links, then its very simple for you to contact the webmaster of popular websites & get added your link too. It will really help you to get good backlinks & ranking as well.

5. Check Their SMO Work Power


Social media is now being a main source to generate genuine traffic. All competitors are following social media optimization to promote their business. Social bookmarking submission is one of the type of SMO. You can start social bookmarking submission & give tags in all submissions to get more benefits from SMO. You can check your competitor's website, where they are submitting.

You should also create accounts in top social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter, Google plus, Linkedin, Myspace and many more. You can search if your competitors have profiles on these SMO websites. Check their all networks, posts, likes, friends, pages & all about strategies they are using. Follow their strategies & put your own efforts.

6. Check Their Search Queries in Alexa


Alexa is a very good tool to analyze a website traffic, because Alexa is using to collect data according to website's behavior. its showing web traffic, queries detail, famous links & more with a self rank named (Alexa Rank). So check competitor's website in Alexa & get all info quickly. By the quaries you will know their main keywords that users are searching to find them in search results.
